Take A Vacation - In San Francisco!

You don't have to leave the City to have fun.

Short of vacation time, but still want to enjoy the summer? Take a vacation right here in the City! I've listed below our favorites activities and events:

1. Take a hike down to beautiful Kirby Cove, just on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Amazing city views, barbeque pits, and campsites.

2. Take a tour of AT&T Park and learn the fascinating history and tidbits of our favorite players.

3. Visit one of the new restaurants in the Presidio, such as the Presidio Social Club, La Terrasse, or Pres a Vi.

4. Spend an evening stargazing on the Land's End Trail (near the Legion of Honor).

5. Attend the legendary Summer in the City concert series, featuring jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka, the eclectic ensemble Pink Martini, Broadway Diva Patti LuPone, and the great Johnny Mathis together in one festival.

6. Ride a Segway around Angel Island. These quiet, environmentally friendly transporters are a fun and unique experience.

7 .  Visit the parrots of Telegraph Hill.  Watch the movie first for a fascinating perspective.

8.  Visit the San Francisco International Chocolate Salon. Highlights include chocolate tastings, wine pairings, chef and author talks, chocolate painting and a chocolate spa and fashion show.

9.  Relax at the 33rd Annual Midsummer Mozart Festival, featuring world-renowned
artists and a first-class local orchestra led by George Cleve.

10. Take in an evening outdoor movie at Mission Dolores Park.

11. Sail the bay on a catamaran. Sunset and day cruises are fun and affordable.

12.   Listen to the serene sounds of the the Wave Organ.  Take in the sounds of the sea and views of San Francisco with Exploratorium senior artist Peter Richards on a tour of his creation "The Wave Organ," an outdoor sculpture and sound installation.

13. Stern Grove Festival: Attend one of the many admission-free performing arts series in Sigmund Stern Grove, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater.

14. Take a Neighborhood Tour. These free and fascinating tours really are an undiscovered gem. Especially entertaining is the Telegraph Hill tour.

15. Take a tour of Alcatraz. Tours are available each day, and if you plan far ahead, you can take an exciting night tour.
