Investors’ Corner Update

The San Francisco Rent Board recently passed a new addition to existing Ordinance #200-07 that adds Chapter 49B entitled to the Administrative Code and requires landlords to re-key or replace door locks when all tenants vacate a rental unit.

A landlord must re-key or replace only one lock on each door exclusive to the unit. The Ordinance goes into effect on September 9, 2007 (30 days after the Mayor’s signature on August 10, 2007.
